If you need to reach us during the pre-k day please try to do so between class times from 11:15-12:00 to avoid interrupting our teaching and learning time.  We will also be here until 3:30pm on most days.  Our preschool room telephone number is 684-2455.  If there is no answer a message can be left with the elementary office at 684-2047.  Thanks!

 

Goals to accomplish in preschool:

 

Socialization skills and how to follow directions and rules.

 

Identifying and writing first and last names.

 

Learning their parent’s names, home address and phone number. 

 

Letters of the alphabet:            We are using Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to help teach formation of the letters.       

We will be practicing how to write the letter of the week and be discussing words that begin with this letter.

                                                   

Numbers:     Children will work on identifying numbers to 30, counting to 30, and learning the correct formation of numbers 0 to 10.

 

Shapes:        Square -- Circle --- Triangle --- Rectangle --- Diamond --- Oval

 

Colors:         Green – Blue – Purple – White – Red – Orange – Yellow – Black – Brown – Pink - Gray

Play safely.

Take care of the classroom.

Listen to your friends.

September   1st   – School Pictures

                    6th -   No School – Labor day

                    22nd – Apple Orchard Field Trip

                    23rd - Midterm reports sent home

                    24th - No Pre-k/ Early out for teacher professional development day

 

October       5th  1st Parent Day in preschool –Parents or Grandparents are welcome to attend the day of preschool with their child.  Please remember that other

arrangements need to be made for siblings.

                    14th-   Picture retake day

                    20th - Grade cards come home

                    21st -  No School/ Professional development for teachers / PAT Fall Harvest 6:30 pm

                    22nd - No School

                    29th – Halloween Party 6-7pm

 

November    23rd - Midterms reports sent home

24th- Muffins for Moms and Doughnuts for Dads 9:00am – No Preschool / Early out for Thanksgiving break

                    25th -26th - No School – Thanksgiving Break

                               

December    8th -   2nd Parent Day - Parents or Grandparents are welcome to attend the day of preschool with their child.  Please remember that other arrangements

need to be made for siblings.

                    17th -  Pre-k Christmas Night in elementary gym at 6:00 pm

                    20th –31st -   No preschool - Dismissed for Christmas break

                   

January        3rd -   No School – Teacher professional development day/ Preschool parent/teacher conferences 3:30-6:30

4th -   No Preschool – Parent/teacher conferences from 9:30-2:30

                    17th -  No School – Martin Luther King Jr. day

 

 February     11th -  Midterms come home/ Valentine’s Celebration 6-7pm

                    14th - No preschool – Early out for teacher professional development day

                    17th – 3rd Parent day in preschool - Parents or Grandparents are welcome to attend the day of preschool with their child.  Please remember that other

arrangements need to be made for siblings.

                    21st  – No School – President’s Day

 

  March        4th -   No preschool – Early out for teacher professional development day

10th -12th – No Preschool – Teachers are attending the Young Years Conference

16th -  Grades come home

17th-18th -     No School – Spring Break

 

 

   April         8th -   4th parent day in preschool - Parents or Grandparents are welcome to attend the day of preschool with their child.  Please remember that other

arrangements need to be made for siblings.

                    13th – Kindergarten screening for pre-k students in the W-M R-1 Preschool.  This will take place during the child’s pre-k session.

                    14th & 15th Pre-k and Kindergarten Screenings in elementary gym.  Screening is by appointment only!

                    22nd- 25th -   No School – Easter Break

 

  May            6th  Last day of preschool

11th -13th - Portfolio conferences for teachers to share the children’s progress with parents (You will only receive your child’s portfolio with pictures of the pre-k year and

work samples if you attend!  Hope everyone makes it! )
