November Student of the Month

The November 2019 Students of the Month for Wellsville-Middletown Jr/Sr High are Jonah Slovensky (JH) and Cassadie Copeland (HS). Ms. Osbourn nominated Jonah for “being a top-notch math student, doing everything that is requested on him, and sets a good example in the classroom of how a student should act.”  Jonah is the son of John and Sherri Slovensky of New Florence.  Jonah is currently a 7th grader. His favorite pastime is spending time with his family.  Jonah’s favorite subject is math, and his favorite food in Kalache’s. He is involved in cross country, basketball, and track.  Alexis says the best part of being a tiger is being able to interact with friends and her teachers. His future plans include going to school to become a zoologist.  Cassadie was nominated by Mrs. Van Horn. She is “impressed with how hard Cassadie studied for her last English test. It was an essay test, and she practiced the essay by writing it out at home and memorizing it.”  Cassadie is the daughter of Ron Copeland Jr. and Jackie Copeland of Wellsville. She is currently a junior. Herr favorite pastime is shopping. Cassadie’s favorite subject is science and her favorite food is pizza. Cassadie says the best part of being a tiger is being apart of the school community.  Cassadie’s future plans include working with children.

The criteria for student of the month are high attendance rate for the month, contributes to class, club, and/or athletic activities, showed marked improvement or continued excellence in performance, is prepared for class, class participation, demonstrates responsibility, and is respectful to peers and teachers.  Thank you to Dairy Mart for donating a cheeseburger meal to this month’s winners.
